2025 Hill Day at the Capitol in Salem
More than 60 Multifamily NW members joined us for our 2025 Hill Day to meet with legislators and share their housing stories. Members divided and conquered attended more than 40 meetings with electeds and their staff. Several members of leadership visited our delegation for breakfast and lunch remarks including Senator Mark Meek, House Housing Committee Chair Rep. Pam Marsh, Rep. Lucetta Elmer, Senate Housing Committee Chair Senator Khanh Pham and our surprise guest of the day was Governor Tina Kotek.

Our day began with a briefing of priority bills outlining rental assistance programs, Rent Well funding and eviction reforms. Sensible arguments and examples of unintended consequences were detailed for the many problematic bills dropped this session that would stifle much needed housing production (SB 722), impede fair and complete applicant screening (HB 2967) and quickly mandate costly electrical upgrades to accommodate air conditioning (SB 54).

Members also took advantage of an advocacy briefing with tips and protocol for having the best experience lobbying legislators and their staff. Toward the end of our visit Multifamily NW members were honored on the House Chamber floor with a Courtesy from Rep. Lucetta Elmer as well.
Thank you to our members who participated in our 2025 Hill Day! We hope more will join us at the next opportunity at the Capitol. Take advantage of the monthly Government Affairs Newsletter and our pnwhousing.org advocacy website to keep up with the Association’s efforts in Salem and across the state.
