Event Details
“Managing Up” is the term often used to address the need for employees to play an active role in the Supervisor-employee partnership. Managing your boss, or managing “upward”, involves consciously striving to improve your collaboration with your boss to gain trust and the best personal and organizational outcomes. It does not mean manipulating, dominating or controlling. It does mean recognizing that your success and your boss’ success are mutually dependent, and the quality of your working relationship directly affects the potential for achievement of organizational goals.
This discussion is designed to offer you ideas on the needed interpersonal skills to be successful in managing up. We will also cover some proven strategies for creating a cooperative relationship with your supervisor.
Successfully managing upward will make your time at work more pleasant and make it easier to accomplish your goals
