Event Details
Organizations provide a variety of DEI educational offerings to their staff. Employers would be wise to make sure they are covering training for all staff to include awareness of microaggressions (aka micro indignities).
These (often) subtle indignities affect your workforce health, morale, and productivity. They creep in and often can lie under the surface. Introducing compassion and understanding into employee interactions and decision making through awareness of the negative impact of everyday slights and snubs is necessary. Awareness training will aid your employees in choosing the right behaviors and creating a strong workplace through mutual respect.
Our discussion will focus on:
• What are micro aggressions
• Forms and types of micro indignities
• The overt and covert comments and messages that are being sent
• Being able to identify these indignities immediately and how to respond (if it is said to us or to others)
• The role we all can play in reinforcing a respectful workplace and the value of using micro affirmations to create a sense of belonging
