What is the Certified Pool & Spa Operator® Certification Program?

The Pool & Hut Tub Alliance’s CPO® certification training program provides training for efficient, effective, and economical operation of swimming pools and spas. It is ideal for operators, owners, managers, service companies, public health officers, or anyone who interacts with recreational water.

To attain the Certified Pool/Spa Operator® certification, a person must:

  • Complete the Pool Operator Primer™ on-line training.
  • Participate in the two-half day Pool Operator Fusion™ classroom course. The Pool Operator Fusion™ course will be by virtual delivery, from 7:45 am to 12:30 pm.
  • Pass the online CPO final exam.

Benefits of CPO® Certification Training

• Proven educational tool.

• Widely accepted by local and state authorities.

• Covers all topics necessary for pool operators, including a section on local and state codes.

• Includes comprehensive full color, indexed handbook which may also be used as a reference tool on the job.

• Successful completion of a written exam is required for certification.

• Recognized nationally and internationally.

• Certification is valid five years.

Multifamily NW welcomes PHTA instructor is Michael Dilley. He has been in the pool management and operation business for over 30 years and has been teaching the PHTA CPO course for 24 years.

Your books will be mailed to you by the instructor. Please plan to join us virtually for orientation on Friday May 9th for one hour from 8:30am - 9:30 am.
