Oregon State Fire Marshal
Connie Biggs is a Program Coordinator in the Fire and Life Safety Education division of the Oregon State Fire Marshal, where her focus is on the State laws regarding smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. She develops educational materials that support fire service personnel, providing ready-made and consistent messaging to help community members prepare for and prevent home fires. Connie also coordinates the Oregon Smoke Alarm Installation Program, offering free smoke alarms and training to fire departments across the State, with the goal of getting working smoke alarms in every home in Oregon.
Connie has a combined total of 20 years in fire and EMS service, in both Washington and Oregon. She holds National certifications in Community Risk Reduction and Fire Prevention Education. She has been presenting the Oregon Smoke & CO Alarm Laws class to real estate agents and property managers for over 5 years.
